Graveside services for John Onofrio, 18, a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Oakwood Cemetery, 763 Portage Road.
Mr. Onofrio's body was found Mondayon the Canadian shoreline of the Niagara River. He was reported missing last Wednesday evening after he went swimming under the Whirlpool Bridge with three friends.
He attended Niagara Falls High School.
Surviving are his parents, Beatrice Brantigan of Niagara Falls and Kenneth P. Jr. of Reno, Nev.; four sisters, Chiara Kinzly of Machias, Alyson Graham and Michelle Klein, both of Niagara Falls, and Donna Kinzly of Hallstead, Pa.; a brother, Brian Brantigan of Niagara Falls; and his grandparents, George Elbel of Elba and Shirley Onofrio of North Carolina.
