3 accused of holding captive, seeking money
JAMESTOWN -- Police are looking for three people accused of holding a man captive and demanding money from his friends in exchange for his safe return.
According to police Capt. Lee Davies, a man was meeting with the people at about 1 a.m. Monday in Bergman Park for a drug transaction when he was taken captive. One of the captors held a shotgun to the man, demanding money from his friends over his cell phone, according to Davies.
A State Police patrol vehicle came upon the scene, Davies said, and when the captors saw the trooper, they fled.
Davies said police know the suspects' names.
Bandit shoots woman in holdup in Allegany
ALLEGANY -- An Olean woman was being treated for a gunshot wound she received in an early morning robbery Monday at a UPS building, state troopers reported.
Jessica Lawrence, 25, was being treated in Olean General Hospital. Her condition was not known.
Police said Lawrence was at the UPS building on East Union Street at about 4:15 a.m. when she was approached by a man with his face covered up. The assailant pulled out a gun and demanded Lawrence's money and her car. He shot her and fled.
The gunman was described as a 5-foot-10, 220-pound man wearing a light brown baseball cap with blue jeans and a dark colored shirt.

Abandoned vehicle leads to arrest in hit-and-run
JAMESTOWN -- A Jamestown man is facing charges following a hit-and-run accident Sunday morning on Liberty Street.
Jack Vogt III, 19, of Prendergast Avenue, was charged with grand larceny and with leaving the scene of an accident.
Jamestown police were called to the scene of the accident at about 8:30 a.m. Sunday. They said they found an abandoned vehicle just a few blocks away.
During the investigation, police determined that the vehicle had been stolen. They subsequently found Vogt on Eighth Street and brought him in for questioning.
He is in the city jail pending arraignment on felony larceny charges.
Chautauqua County adds 3 to Most-Wanted List
MAYVILLE -- There are three new names on this week's Chautauqua County Most-Wanted list.
Dustin Carlson, 33, of Bemus Point, is wanted on a forgery charge.
Jonathon Rodriguez, 18, of Dunkirk, is wanted for allegedly violating his probation on a robbery charge.
And Alex Clark, 19, of Jamestown, is wanted for allegedly violating his probation on a burglary charge. The Sheriff's Department is on the lookout for Clark.
