Allen J. Walker of Brocton, an Army veteran who worked as a truck driver, died Saturday in Westfield Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He was 62.
Born in Dunkirk, he graduated from Fredonia High School.
Mr. Walker served in the Army from 1961 to 1969, retiring as a staff sergeant. He was a truck driver and member of Teamsters Local 507, based in Erie, Pa. and worked for Penske Logistics, based in Reading, Pa. He was a member of the Fredonia Beaver Club and the American Legion, including Frank Acquavia Post in Dunkirk and John W. Dill Post in Brocton. He also was a life member of John T. Murray Post 1017, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Dunkirk.
He is survived by his wife of five years, the former Miriam Figueroa; a daughter, Cynthia Lee Gibson of Woodland Park, Colo.; two brothers, Richard of Fredonia and William of Dewittville; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Harvest Chapel Free Methodist Church, Fredonia. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Sheridan.
