Restaurant, owner's home are targeted in burglaries
ALLEGANY -- The owner of Ray & Janet's Restaurant reported Sunday that $110 was missing from her cash register and several hundred dollars was missing from her home.
Janet A. Seeley, owner of the restaurant at 145 W. Main St., told the Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Department that someone broke into the business early Sunday morning. She also reported that her purse had been taken while she slept at home on Nine Mile Road.
The southbound vehicle was in the passing lane when it bounced twice off the center median at about 5 p.m., said Sgt. Craig Powell of the State Police. The victim suffered a head injury.
The driver, Lacey Lynn Adinolfi, 17, of Delaware Avenue, Kenmore, was taken to Erie County Medical Center with minor injuries. Also taken there were passengers Matthew Iglesias, 20, of Edgewood Avenue, Town of Tonawanda, with arm and face injuries, and Adam Steffans, 23, of Philadelphia Street, who was treated and released.
Charges in hit-and-run include vehicle theft
JAMESTOWN -- Police arrested a 19-year-old man Sunday and charged him with a hit-and-run accident involving a stolen vehicle.
Jack R. Vogt III, of Prendergast Avenue, was charged with felony grand larceny and leaving the scene of an accident.
Police said the accident occurred at 1:30 a.m. at 99 Liberty St. The vehicle was abandoned nearby at Liberty and Seventh Street. Police said Vogt was found on Eighth Street. He was held in the city jail pending arraignment today.
