A Mass of Christian Burial for Arthur T. Jakubowski, a color chemist and bus driver, will be offered at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church, 180 George Urban Blvd., Cheektowaga, after prayers at 10:30 in Melvin J. Sliwinski Funeral Home, 85 George Urban Blvd., Cheektowaga. Burial will be in St. Adalbert Cemetery, Cheektowaga.
Mr. Jakubowski, of Buffalo, died unexpectedly Sunday at home. He was 78.
He was born in Buffalo and lived in the area his entire life. He graduated from Emerson Vocational High School.
Mr. Jakubowski worked as a color chemist for Allied Chemical from the late 1940s to the mid-1970s. He then worked for the Buffalo Public Schools as a bus driver and router from the late 1970s until his retirement in 1991.
Known as "Mr. Fix It," he enjoyed bowling, dancing, gardening and spending time with family.
His wife, Bertha Mazur Jakubowski, died in 1968.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Ryer of Buffalo; four sons, Ronald of Lancaster and Arthur, Edward and Joseph, all of Buffalo; a brother, Richard of Clearwater, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
