Thomas J. Organisciak, a retired truck driver of the Town of Tonawanda, died Thursday in Sheridan Manor Nursing Home, Town of Tonawanda, after a short illness. He was 85.
Born in Utica, he had lived in this area for 54 years. He was a truck driver for Consolidated Trucking Ltd., Town of Tonawanda, until he retired in 1982.
During World War II, he served with the Army in the European campaign under Gen. George Patton.
Mr. Organisciak was a member of the Ken-Ton Singles and enjoyed golf, bowling and dancing.
He was a member of St. Amelia Catholic Church, Town of Tonawanda.
He was the widower of Catherine and Tilly.
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia L. Prior of Las Vegas; three sons, Dr. Daniel T. of Dayton, Ohio, Timothy L. of Green Bay, Wis., and Paul T. of the Town of Tonawanda;by 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Prayers will be said at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday in Amigone Funeral Home, 2600 Sheridan Drive, Town of Tonawanda, followed at 9 by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Amelia Church, 2999 Eggert Road, Town of Tonawanda. Burial will be in Elmlawn Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda.
