Dennis B. Pieczynski Sept. 22, 1951 -- Sept. 16, 2005

A Mass of Christian Burial for Dennis B. Pieczynski, a longtime Cheektowaga bar owner, will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Josaphat Catholic Church, William and Peoria streets, Cheektowaga.

Prayers at 8:45 in the Daniel R. Smolarek Funeral Home, 2510 Union Road, Cheektowaga, will precede the Mass. Burial will be at St. Adalbert Cemetery, Lancaster.

Mr. Pieczynski died Friday in St. Joseph Hospital in Cheektowaga after a short illness. He was 53.

Born in Buffalo, he graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in Cheektowaga in 1969.

After high school, he served in the Navy on the USS John F. Kennedy from 1970 until 1973.

Since 1973, Mr. Pieczynski owned and operated the IV Stallions sports bar on William Street in Cheektowaga with his brother, Donald, of Elma. The brothers opened Center Court Sports in 1994.

Mr. Pieczynski, an avid fan of Buffalo sports, also loved the New York Yankees.

In addition to his brother, survivors include his mother, Cecilia, of Cheektowaga.
