Administrators shift jobs at school district

NIAGARA FALLS -- There has been a small shakeup in the administration of the Niagara Falls School District.

Phil Mohr, chief educational administrator at Niagara Falls High School since the new building opened five years ago, will leave Monday to become a principal on special assignment at the school district's Human Resources office.

Mohr will work under the guidance of Department Director Esther Isler Hamilton to prepare to take her place when she retires on Dec. 23.

Mohr has been replaced as the school's chief administrator by Mark Laurrie, who has been the principal of visual and performing arts for the past three years. Laurrie said the change was made immediately because Hamilton's job is so different. He said Superintendent Carmen A. Granto wanted Mohr to work with Hamilton so there will be a smooth transition as she leaves that post.
