Veronica D. Klotz Jan. 8, 1925 -- Sept. 1O, 2OO5

Veronica D. Klotz, a former Eucharistic minister, died Saturday in Lake Shore Nursing Facility, Irving, after a brief illness. She was 80.

Born Veronica Dessart in Guttenburg, N.J., she was active with Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Silver Creek, including serving as parish sacristan, Eucharistic minister, lector, church liturgy committee member and religious education secretary.

She was a member of Daughters of America since 1947 and held several state and national offices and appointments. She was also a former Girl Scout leader.

Ms. Klotz is survived by a son, Joseph of Farmingdale; two daughters, Veronica Hornberger of Brant and Dorothy Sorrentino of Islip; a brother,
Lawrence Dessart of Sun City, Ariz.; and five grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Saturday in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 165 Central Ave., Silver Creek. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
