Niagara won a tight first game, 30-28, but the University at Buffalo came back to win the next three and snap the Purple Eagles' five-match winning streak in women's volleyball Tuesday night in Alumni Arena.
The Bulls (5-4) had four players with double-digit kills, led by Nikki Morzenti's 16. Katie Weekley had 11 kills and a match-high eight blocks.
Stephanie Hopkins of Niagara (5-2) led all players with 19 kills. Micole Daluisio of the Eagles had 22 digs.
Elsewhere, Lauren Smith had seven kills for Medaille, which was swept in three games at Rochester. . . . Elisha Whitney had 11 digs, eight kills and two aces for Daemen (3-12) which was swept by once-beaten LeMoyne in Syracuse.
MEN'S SOCCER: Scott Lippman (Holland) scored the winning goal, giving Hilbert (1-3) a 2-1 win over D'Youville (0-4). Brian Kraska (Depew) scored the first Hilbert goal before Chris Stencel (Cheektowaga) tied it for the Spartans.
Alfred State edged Erie Community College, 5-4 in overtime. Roosevelt Connel, John Lucie (Lancaster), Brandon Loncar (Kenmore East) and Mohamed Mohamed (Lackawanna) scored for the Kats (2-4) while goalkeeper Zack Edwards (Kenmore West) had 12 saves.
WOMEN'S SOCCER: Rosanne Gawronski (West Seneca West) scored both goals and Kelly Goodwin (Niagara Falls) got the shut out as Hilbert (2-2) defeated Alfred U., 2-0. . . . Houghton (7-0-1) blanked Daemen, 6-0, in the American Mid-East Conference. Kim Walker (Grand Island) of Daemen (3-3) was named AMEC Player of the Week.
