Primaries were held in four of Genesee County's 13 towns Tuesday.
In Alexander, incumbents William G. Hirsch, 92 votes, and William R. Franz, 75, beat David A. Newston with 72 and Michael E. Smart with 28 for the GOP line for two town council seats.
In Byron, Kristine Dow, Republican-endorsed, beat Donna Bobzin, 88-69, for the GOP line for town clerk.
In Pembroke, Robert Alexander, a Corfu peace justice, defeated incumbent town justice David Pajak, 312-91, for the Republican line. Frederick Rarick had 33 votes. Alexander also won the Conservative line with 10 write-ins to Pajak's 5 ballots.
In Stafford, Councilman Steven Boldt beat Wayne Leanen, 187-108, to win the GOP line and the inside track to succeed retiring Robert G. Donnelly as highway superintendent.
