Jerry J. Pawlak, a longtime resident of Niagara Falls, died Tuesday in Waterfront Health Care Center after a lengthy illness. He was 88.
Born in Niagara Falls, Mr. Pawlak worked for 44 years as a heavy-equipment operator at Occidental Chemical Corp., retiring in 1979. He lived in Niagara Falls until 1998, when he moved to the Town of Tonawanda.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, the former Helen
Pawloski of the Town of Tonawanda; two daughters, Barbara Pulvino and Claudia Taylor, both of the Town of Tonawanda; and three grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9 a.m. Saturday in St. Amelia Catholic Church, 2999 Eggert Road, Town of Tonawanda, after prayers at 8:15 in Amigone Funeral Home, 2600 Sheridan Drive, Town of Tonawanda. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston.
