Janine D. Lester, former teacher's assistant Sept. 10, 1952 -- Sept. 10, 2005

NIAGARA FALLS -- Janine D. Lester, a former teacher's assistant from Niagara Falls, died Saturday, her 53rd birthday, in Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Buffalo.

The Niagara Falls native graduated from Niagara-Wheatfield High School.

She had worked for Niagara Children Etc. as a teacher's assistant at Niagara Cerebral Palsy for more than 25 years.

Her favorite pastimes were listening to music, watching television and movies and spending time with her dog, Jake.

Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Dorothy E. and John L. Winchester of Niagara Falls; two brothers, Allan J. of North Tonawanda and Arnold W. of Rochester; a sister, Ruth E. Mort of Niagara Falls; a stepsister, Joan Broderick of Williamsville; and two stepbrothers, John Winchester Jr. of Orlando, Fla., and Craig Winchester of Enfield, Conn.

Services were held today in Rhoney Funeral Home, Sanborn. Burial was in Acacia Park Cemetery, Pendleton.
