Dorothy L. Willard, a former mail sorter, died Sept. 4 in Buffalo General Hospital of heart failure. She was 85.
Born Dorothy Tilford in Cincinnati, she moved to Buffalo at age 14.
She received a general education diploma and worked for what is now the U.S. Postal Service as a mail sorter, and later in an after-school care program for children, retiring in 1971.
Mrs. Willard enjoyed cooking and reading.
Her husband, Jarris, died in 1981.
A memorial service will be at 5 p.m. Friday in Thomas T. Edwards Funeral Home, 995 Genesee St. Burial was private.
