A district-by-district breakdown of primary elections results was not provided by the Board of Elections on primary night, marking the first time in decades these results have not been made available.
Republican Elections Commissioner Ralph M. Mohr said this morning that district breakdowns are part of an overall county report and that the process was hampered by districts still not reporting because of the use of paper ballots.
"It would take a modification of the report, which I was not about to do at 12:30 this morning," Mohr said. "It was my understanding we couldn't do it."
Mohr said he hoped to issue a report with the information available as soon as possible.
Board officials have complained that county budget cuts have left them with too few workers to perform several routines such as setting up voting machines, forcing the use of paper ballots.
The Buffalo News plans to run the district-by-district breakdown when it becomes available in its entirety.
