The law firm of Hodgson Russ named Eileen M. Martin a senior associate in the firm's Immigration Practice Group. Martin has more than 10 years of experience in the private practice of immigration law, six of which as a licensed foreign legal consultant, as designated by the Province of Ontario.


Merck & Co. based in Whitehouse Station, N.J. named Margaret G. McGlynn president of Merck Vaccines effective Sept. 1. McGlynn, previously president of Merck U.S. Human Health, will have global responsibilities for Merck's vaccines business. McGlynn is a Buffalo native and a graduate of the University at Buffalo.

Cenergy Communications, an East Aurora marketing agency, was honored by Macromedia, a Web-based software solutions developer in San Francisco, with its Site of the Day award for August 30, 2005, for its work on the Web site, the recently-launched online home for OXY Acne Solutions. The award is given to Web sites that demonstrate strong visual design, technical execution, usability, interesting content and benefit to the organization. Cenergy Communications, in partnership with clevermethod, produced the site for the Mentholatum Company, owners of OXY.


Tanner Remodeling and Construction recently moved to 164 Buffalo Street in Hamburg. The two-story, 6,500 square foot former Weinar Paint Store building offers room for expanded workforce and showroom and design facilities. A grand opening celebration is planned for March 17, 2006. Left Coast Design Studio, Architecture, formerly known as Left Coast Design Studio, located at 5314 Broadway in Lancaster, has reorganized. John Lydon, the former director of buildings for Buffalo and Buffalo Fire Department deputy commissioner, is president of the architectural firm.
