Legislature meeting today to deal with bond act
LITTLE VALLEY -- The regular meeting of the Cattaraugus County Legislature will be at 6 p.m. today in the County Center instead of Wednesday.
The meeting was scheduled for 3 p.m. Wednesday but was changed so legislators are free to attend the fall conference of the New York State Association of Counties.
Agenda matters include a request to support the state $35.8 billion capital transportation plan. Locally, the money would upgrade Route 17 across the southern portion of the state to I-86 status.
Also, the bond act would convert Route 219 to a four-lane expressway, say sponsors Elliott Ellis, R-New Albion, and Charles Krause, R-Great Valley.
In another measure, legislators will vote on a contract effective Oct. 1 with the Town of Allegany for assessment services through an employee of the county's Real Property Tax Service office. Services will be per parcel for a total of $31,535 due the county through July 1, 2006.
