Man accused of pointing loaded shotgun at cousin
A resident of the Cattaraugus Indian Reservation was arrested Sunday on charges of pointing a loaded shotgun at his cousin.
The Erie County Sheriff's Department said Derrick Stevens, 40, had an argument with Martin Stevens, 46, at a residence on Mile Block Road at about 9 a.m. Deputy Michael Lesinski said a third man, Darwin John, 43, disarmed Derrick after a brief struggle.
Lesinski said he located Stevens in a vehicle on Sulfur Springs Road and arrested him without incident, with the assistance of Seneca Nation Indian Security, state troopers and North Collins police.
Stevens was charged with menacing and felony possession of a weapon and was taken to the Erie County Holding Center.
