A motorist was seriously injured Friday afternoon when his car collided with a dump truck in Stafford, Genesee County sheriff's deputies reported.
The accident happened shortly before 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Routes 33 and 237. Deputies said a dump truck, driven by William J. Loucks, 61, of East Pembroke, was heading west on Route 33 when the car, traveling south on Route 237, failed to yield the right of way.
The driver of the car was seriously injured and had to be freed from the wreckage, deputies said. The man, whose name was withheld pending notification of relatives, was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
Loucks was not injured, deputies said.
