A Trump and a quack ...
In her first big commercial, model Melania Trump is starring alongside a duck -- not the Donald.
"He's a real pro," Trump told the Associated Press about the Aflac duck, her co-star in a 30-second TV commercial for Aflac insurance. It debuts Monday.
As a model, Trump has appeared in numerous print ads and graced the covers of Vogue and British GQ. This is the 22nd commercial for the duck, whose speaking part is usually limited to his famous "Aflaaaaaaaac" squawk. But in the ad, a mad scientist swaps Trump's sultry voice with the infamous spokesduck, voiced by Gilbert Gottfried. "We want to give Aflac some sex appeal, that's what the commercial is all about," said the Slovenian-born Trump, the bride of billionaire Donald Trump.
At the end of the commercial, she quacks out the familiar squawk, while looking down at her new duck feet.
Dating news ...
Tom Cruise has a new girlfriend -- actress Katie Holmes.
Cruise, 42, and Holmes, 26, have been dating a few weeks, said Cruise's publicist and sister, Lee Anne DeVette. The pair were photographed this week together in Rome, where Cruise today will receive a lifetime achievement award at the Italian equivalent of the Academy Awards, the David di Donatello Awards. Holmes' public relations firm -- Baker Winokur Ryder -- confirmed the two were dating.
Cruise's first two marriages, to actresses Mimi Rogers and Nicole Kidman, ended in divorce. He was dating actress Penelope Cruz until the pair split last year. Holmes and actor Chris Klein recently called off their engagement after dating five years.
Motherhood agrees ...
After having twins last November, Julia Roberts is even more beautiful, according to People magazine.
The 37-year-old actress graces the cover of People's annual "50 Most Beautiful People" issue, on newsstands today. "Now that she has her babies, she has reached the peak of beauty," the magazine quotes Roberts' friend and makeup artist Genevieve. "She is satisfied and content. All of that shows."
It's the third time that Roberts has been the issue's cover girl, a new record, and her ninth time on the list, a feat mirrored only by Halle Berry, who is also in the issue.
This year, People also polled online readers for their opinions. With more than 500,000 votes cast, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were the overwhelming winners of most beautiful man and woman. The two have recently been linked romantically by tabloid reports, though neither star has confirmed a relationship. Also making the list are Jennifer Aniston, Oprah Winfrey, Lindsay Lohan, Jamie Foxx, Eva Longoria, Miami Heat basketball player Dwyane Wade and Mischa Barton.
Gowns away ...
Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry has donated two of her designer gowns to be auctioned off during the annual prom fashion show at her high school, Bedford High School near Cleveland.
"She always said that if I need anything to let her know," said Yvonne Sims, a guidance counselor and Berry's fifth-grade teacher. The money raised will send Bedford High School students on a field trip to the Underground Railroad Freedom Center in Cincinnati.
One dress is a knee-length geometric print that Berry wore on an Ebony magazine cover. The other is a white Versace halter-style gown that she wore to a party after the debut of "Lackawanna Blues," the HBO film she produced.
Berry graduated from Bedford in 1984.
