MAN GETS PROBATION IN THEFT OF COMPUTER

Jeremy M. Swimline, 25, of Dalton was sentenced Wednesday to three years' probation and must make $2,704 in restitution after pleading guilty to reduced charges.

Allegany County Judge James E. Euken sentenced Swimline, who pleaded guilty Feb. 9 to attempted fourth-degree grand larceny and attempted first-degree criminal impersonation.

District Attorney Terrence M. Parker said Swimline had been indicted Jan. 5 on fourth-degree grand larceny and first-degree criminal impersonation charges.

He ordered and received a laptop computer last June, told the vendor he had not received it and pretended to be a police officer when he dealt with the vendor's customer service department, said Parker.
