The Board of Commissioners of the Buffalo Municipal Housing Authority on Thursday approved its HUD operating budget of $28 million for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2006.
The next step is for the spending plan to go to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the state financial control board for approval, said Gillian D. Brown, interim executive director of the housing authority. Beginning next week, HUD officials will do a line-by-line analysis of the budget, he explained.
"HUD will do an entrance interview during the first week of May and meet with staff to look over supporting documentation for each request," Brown said. "We'll have to justify to them our budget allocations."
