A provision in the new state budget could bring Mount View Health Facility as much as $500,000 in extra aid this year, Administrator Patricia Weeks O'Connor said Wednesday.
County Manager Gregory D. Lewis said that the money might be as little as $300,000 and that it will not change his recommendation that the nursing home be sold.
The county is expecting to have to subsidize Mount View with about $1.7 million in property tax money this year.
The Civil Service Employees Association, in a news release, touted the state aid as a reason the county could keep Mount View.
O'Connor said the new rules on how counties may use so-called "intergovernmental transfers" have not yet been passed, though the money is in the budget, so it is not yet known when the aid might arrive.
The state's 47 government-owned nursing homes are to share $40 million.
