A memorial Mass for Patrick M. Lalley, a retired teacher who was active in Village of Hamburg affairs and served on the Village Board, will be offered at noon May 16 in St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 5930 South Abbott Road, Orchard Park. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Lackawanna.
Mr. Lalley, a Lackawanna native and retired teacher, died Friday after being stricken while riding his bicycle near his home in Bradenton, Fla. He was 68.
In recent years, he divided his time between his Florida home and a residence in Hamburg.
Mr. Lalley taught English and Latin for 33 years in the Lackawanna Public Schools. He was an environmentalist, volunteer for civic causes and served on the Village Board from 1994 to 1998. He also served on the Planning Commission from 1982 to 1994 and was its chairman in 1989.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Mary Cantlin Lalley; four daughters, Regina of Buffalo, Bridget Lalley Ryder of Maryland and Megan Hicks and Cara, both of Virginia; a sister, Ann Conley of Amherst; two brothers, Peter of Fairport and Dennis of Hamburg; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
A Mass of Rememberance was offered Tuesday in Bradenton.
