Seal and Design, a designer, manufacturer and distributor of O-rings, promoted Dean S. Penman to president. Penman previously was vice president of sales and marketing.

Canisius College Accounting Society named Michael R. Winter the Outstanding Accountant in Western New York. Winters is managing partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers. He obtained a master's degree in business administration from Canisius College. The society also honored John R. Connolly with the Dr. Joseph Coppola Award, in recognition of his exceptional achievements as a Canisius accounting alumnus. He is senior vice president and chief financial officer for Byram Health Care.

Tavco Direct Corp. founder and president Ralph J. Taverna recently presented at a sales and marketing seminar for the Canisius College Women's Business Center titled "Basics for Success." In May he will present a seminar titled "Sales and Marketing Essentials."
