The Erie County Legislature has scheduled three committee meetings Wednesday morning to try to get some movement on the biggest issues facing county government.

The Energy and Environment Committee is expected to meet at 9 a.m. to review the county plan to reopen the parks.

At 10 a.m., the Government Affairs Committee is expected to hear from County Clerk David Swarts about options for reopening another auto bureau, as well as discuss County Executive Joel A. Giambra's desire to create a county revenue recovery unit.

At 11 a.m., the Finance and Management Committee is expected to review county deficit issues and discuss what can be done to address that gap. The committee also is expected to review the county's capital budget for this year.

The possibility remains that the Legislature may call a special meeting before its regularly scheduled Thursday session to take action on the various proposals if they have enough support, but it's unlikely that the meeting will be held this week because not enough legislators could attend, said Democratic Majority Leader Lynn Marinelli.
