Clara J. Gaeta, a homemaker, died Saturday in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after a brief illness. She was 87.
Mrs. Gaeta was born Clara Fruscione in Niagara Falls. She grew up on 20th Street and attended St. Joseph's School and Niagara Falls High School.
She worked at Walker's Laundry and Figler's Laundry for several years.
Mrs. Gaeta was a devout Catholic. She enjoyed crocheting, reading and having Sunday picnics on the Lake Ontario shore with her family in the summer.
Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Alfred A.; two sons, Anthony of Lockport and Alfred of Niagara Falls; four daughters, AnnaBella Goodman of Sanborn, and Mary Ann Mohr, Christine Edwards and Paulette, all of Niagara Falls; two sisters, Lucy Ottaviani of Lewiston and Sister M. Celestine Fruscione of Brazil; and 14 grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1112 South Ave., after prayers at 9:15 in M.J. Colucci & Son Niagara Funeral Chapel, 2730 Military Road, Town of Niagara. Entombment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston.
