A man has confessed to kidnapping a 5-year-old girl who was snatched off a city street a year ago, authorities said.
Kevin Schaus, 32, of Syracuse, was charged with first-degree kidnapping after confessing Friday to abducting Brittany Fish last April. The girl was found alive a day after her abduction, bound with duct tape under a tarp in an abandoned warehouse.
Schaus also was charged with sexually abusing a 4-year-old last month in Van Buren and kidnapping a 14-year-old from a park in 2003.
Onondaga County sheriff's deputies picked up Schaus for questioning Friday morning after learning of the abuse of the 4-year-old, a member of a family with whom Schaus was acquainted.
He was held in jail without bail.
