CANISIUS REGENTS BALL WILL AID SCHOLARSHIPS

A SeaDream Yachting Voyage with ports of call throughout the Mediterranean highlights items to be auctioned at the 39th annual Canisius College Regents Scholarship Ball May 14 in Hyatt Regency Buffalo. The yacht has accommodations for 55 couples and 90 crew members.

Edward C. Gelia Jr., executive vice president of United Insurance Agency, and attorney Acea Mosey-Pawlowski and her husband Alan Pawlowski are chairmen of the event to raise funds for the college's Board of Regents Scholarship Fund.

Cocktails at 6 p.m. will precede dinner and dancing to the sounds of Universal Grille Band. Sports and entertainment packages will be raffled throughout the evening.

The Board of Regents Distinguished Citizen Achievement Award will be presented to B. Thomas Golisano, founder and chairman of Paychex Inc. and owner of the Buffalo Sabres National Hockey League franchise, who will be honored for his civic, entrepreneurial and economic contributions to the Western New York area.

Tables of 10 are available at $5,000, $3,000 and $2,000 levels and individual tickets to the ball are also available. New this year is a young alumni ticket price of $150 for alumni who were graduated between 1994 and 2004. For reservations, call Marion Mittler, director of endowed scholarships, at 888-2715.
