About 1,000 college students pulled an all-nighter Friday at the University at Buffalo Amherst campus to fight cancer.
The students participated in the American Cancer Society Relay For Life and raised nearly $50,000.
Teams of students, faculty and staff camped out and walked or ran around the school track for the duration of the night in support of the fight against cancer. Some of those who have battled cancer were honored and remembered during the Luminaria Ceremony.
Money raised from the Relay For Life support American Cancer Society cancer research programs, as well as education, advocacy and patient service programs for cancer patients and their families.
