Representatives from Niagara Frontier Orchid Society, Lord Gardens, the Koi and Pond Club and others will participate in Garden Information Day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens, 2655 South Park Ave. The event is free with regular admission. Master Gardeners will test soil samples from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Botanical Gardens is offering a "Coleus Trimming" workshop from 1 to 3 p.m. May 7 and a "Tree Identification in South Park" outing from 1 to 3 p.m. May 15. Registration deadline is April 30; $10 for members per event, $15 for nonmembers.

The Elmwood Village-City Garden Group will meet from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Crane Library, Elmwood and Highland avenues, second floor. The Forest Stream Garden Club will hold "Through the Garden Gate," its biennial spring luncheon, silent auction and boutique at 11:30 a.m. May 7 at Fox Valley Country Club. The Botanical Gardens Society is planning a trip May 27 to "The Garden as Art Flower Show 2005," at the Cleveland Botanical Garden.
