Doris L. Duquin of Spring Hill, Fla., who was a shoe fitter, died April 11 in Hernando-Pasco Hospice, Brooksville, Fla., after a long illness. She was 88.
Born Doris Hanley in Buffalo, she graduated from South Park High School.
Mrs. Duquin was a specialty dancing shoe fitter at Bailey Slipper Shop in Buffalo for 25 years, retiring in the late 1970s.
She attended recitals at dance studios that three of her daughters owned.
Mrs. Duquin was a member of Ailiamsi Court No. 12, Orchard Park, a sister organization to the Shriners.
She enjoyed summers at Green Gables, the family cottage in Long Beach, Ont.
Mrs. Duquin moved to Florida in 2004.
Her husband of 62 years, Elmer G., died in 1995.
Survivors include four daughters, Joyce Irving of Williamsville, Lois Bening of Harbor Hills, Fla., and Diane Zabel and Carol Beaver, both of Spring Hill, Fla.; a son, James of Bonita Springs, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 5:30 p.m. Sunday in Amigone Funeral Home, 5200 Sheridan Drive, Amherst.
