Highlights: Stock car/drag racing facility begins its 47th season, second under the direction of General Manager Jim Reid. Although Lancaster's oval action is still primarily a Saturday night stock car program, Lancaster will open its stock car season on a Sunday, May 1.
The opener will feature the Lancaster/Holland Late Model Challenge 25 and a Modified 30. A stock car points payout at the end of the season is worth more than $42,000, thanks to contributions from various divisional sponsors, the weekly Friends of Auto Racing Fan Club drawings and the track's Super Fan Plan drawing.
The 12th Sunday Niagara Nostalgia Drags and Car show will run Saturday, July 23, and Sunday, July 24. The stock cars will present Modified and Late Model midseason championships on Thursday, July 20.
The 17th annual U.S. Open Weekend has expanded to a three-day event, Sept. 23 through Sept. 25.
The Friday night IHRA drag racing competition is now the Advance Auto Parts Drag Racing Series.

Highlights: Holland charges into its 46th year by changing the starting time for its weekly Saturday night cards back to 7:15 p.m., cutting heat qualifying races and running longer feature races.
Holland will run its first two events on successive Sunday afternoons, May 15 and 22. The May 15 date will feature the Lancaster/Holland Late Model Challenge Series. The track has also absorbed the Stinger class into the Pro Four class.
Major traveling events include the Busch Grand National North 150 on June 25 and the Sunoco Race of Champions Modified Tour 100 on July 16.
Clark Rice, Holland's longest tenured race official, will not be present for the first time since 1960. Clark died Feb 21. He was a devoted, capable, respected and admired race official and person.

Perhaps the biggest racing event in the area this season will unfold at Ransomville when CWM Chemical Services of Lewiston presents the World of Outlaws Stacker 2 Late Model Series on Monday, June 27.
The DIRT 358 Modified rookie ranks look strong this season with former Ransomville DIRT Sportsman champion Scott George, Dave Kubiniec and Genesee DIRT Sportsman titlist Brian Sage and Pat Vigneri joining the DIRT Modified competition.

The Western New York Region of the Sports Car Club of America will run seven Solo II events in 2005. Events at sites to be determined are May 22, June 26, July 24, Aug. 14, Aug. 28, Sept. 11. A Solo II will be run June 5 at Batavia International Motorsports Park.
Due to the rising cost of insurance, registration fees for the Solo II events have increased to $20 for SCCA members and $25 for nonmembers. The Batavia event will be $25 and $30 respectively.
