SKATEBOARD PLAN OK'D; GROUP APPLIES FOR GRANT

The Common Council on Wednesday approved construction of a skateboard facility in Outwater Park if money can be found to pay for it.

The Council unanimously approved the site between the community pool and Corinthia Street. Estimated cost is $72,500.

The Lockport Community Recreation Committee, headed by Youth and Recreation Director Paul G. Foster, is trying to incorporate itself as a not-for-profit foundation and has already applied for a $25,000 grant from the Tony Hawk Foundation.
