A 44-year-old man was listed in serious condition Tuesday evening after he was stabbed in the neck with a 4-inch steak knife Monday night, police said.
Melvin Wilson, of no permanent address, suffered two large stab wounds. He was being treated in the trauma intensive care unit of Erie County Medical Center after being transferred from Buffalo General Hospital.
Donald Miller, 45, of Normal Avenue, was charged with first-degree assault, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Central District police said Wilson was attacked at about 9:20 p.m. in an apartment at 21 Allen St.
Police said they recovered the knife and a metal pipe with crack cocaine residue on the kitchen counter.
