Evangeline M. Eddy, a homemaker and seamstress, died Friday in Livingston County Skilled Nursing Facility in Geneseo. She was 89.
Born Evangeline Landry in Portageville, she lived there and in Rush as a homemaker and doing seamstress work from home.
She was a member of the Catholic Church of the Assumption and its Altar & Rosary Society.
She was a former 4-H leader and former member of the Rush Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and the Lima Grand Squares.
Her husband, Howard F., died in 1994.
Survivors include four daughters, Diane Cochran of Jacksonville, Fla., Cathy Mahar of Avon, Darlene Johnson of Duncannon, Pa., and Mary Jane Beardsley of Portageville; a sister, Margaret Osburn of North Chili; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
Prayers will be said at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Harmon-Watson Funeral Home, 35 N. Main St., Castile, followed at 11 by a Mass of Christian Burial in Church of the Assumption, Pike Street, Portageville. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
