A guitar signed by the Goo Goo Dolls, theme baskets and a bicycle are among items donated for Gambit XXXI, the 31st annual fund-raiser to benefit Canisius High School. The event will include a dinner and auction Saturday in the Golden Ballroom and Terrace Room in the Statler Hotel and, new this year, a Gambit Eve party for families and friends from 6 to 10 p.m Friday in the high school.
"Gambit Rocks" is the theme of both parties.
A silent auction, raffles, games, food and refreshments will be featured on Friday and the Canisius High School Jazz Band will be playing both nights.
Cash Cunningham will be the auctioneer at the dinner and auction Saturday.
Items that will be up for bid include a trip with the Buffalo Sabres to an away game on their private jet, Trabucco crystal, iPods, student photographs and artwork, and vacation packages.
Paul V. and Amy Vukelic and Edward S. and Anne Bloomberg are chairmen of the dinner and auction in the Statler. Tickets are $100 per person.
Brian L. and Ann Carrier are chairmen of Gambit Eve. Tickets are $6 per person, or $20 per family, and include food and refreshments.
