A school safety aide has been arrested in Queens for allegedly setting a student's hair on fire.
Albert Blacks was arrested on charges of reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child after he held a disposable lighter to the back of the boy's head, police said. He was suspended without pay.
Police did not say what caused the incident, but Blacks' attorney, Matthew Thomas, told the New York Daily News for Thursday editions that Blacks and the boy were "friends" and had been "fooling around."
The incident took place about 3 p.m. Tuesday in Springfield Gardens High School.
