Police charged a second man Tuesday in the theft of the Edvard Munch masterpieces "The Scream" and "Madonna."
Police said the man was in his 30s and that they were holding him for questioning.
Police have withheld most details about their investigation and attempts to recover the two paintings, which were stolen Aug. 22 by masked gunmen in a brazen daylight heist at the Munch Museum in Oslo.
On Monday, the Oslo district court ordered a 37-year-old man, who was arrested Friday, held for four weeks pending a police investigation and possible indictment in the theft.
Police have withheld both men's names.
