A Niagara Regional Police officer has been arrested for alleged sexual assault involving a 20-year-old woman after a traffic stop in Niagara Falls, police said.
Constable Michael Moore, a uniformed patrol officer for 11 Division based in St. Catharines, has been charged with sexual assault and breach of trust regarding an Aug. 6 incident on Montrose Road. Authorities announced the charges Friday.
Police said Moore was working in the central traffic unit at 11 Division when he pulled over the woman's vehicle and sexually assaulted her. She alerted police, and the province's Special Investigations Unit looked into the matter, police said.
