Rural and farm safety geared to young people and their families will be the subject of demonstrations and short talks starting at 7 p.m. April 21 at Niagara Frontier Equipment Sales, 4060 Lake Ave., Lockport.
A typical demonstration, with accident simulation, involve what to do at the scene of a farm accident.
Gun safety on farms, particularly weapons left unsecured and within reach of children, will be discussed by Gordon Botting and Larry Koch of the Federation of Conservation Clubs. Storage of firearms and personal protective equipment also will be covered.
Demonstrations on the dangers of various farm equipment and machinery will be conducted by Becky Ireland-Perry, an educator with the New York Center for Agricultural Medicine and Health, and Kurt Kennedy of Niagara Frontier Equipment Sales.
