Gov. George E. Pataki and his wife Libby have added a $360,000 house in Florida to their real estate holdings.
The one-story, three-bedroom house on Singer Island in Palm Beach County is an investment that the Patakis rent out, said David Catalfamo, spokesman for the Republican governor. He said they planned on disclosing the purchase publicly next Friday as part of their tax returns for 2004.
Libby Pataki bought the property on May 19, 2004, according to records on file at the Palm Beach County clerk's office. Florida records show she took out a $240,000 mortgage.
The Patakis, parents of four children, live in a large Victorian home in Garrison, Putnam County, that was worth $2.2 million last year. They bought it for $725,000 in 1986, when Pataki was a state assemblyman.
The couple also owns a $1.3 million, 365-acre farm on the shore of Lake Champlain in Essex County and property in Washington County.
