The immortal Eminem ...
Elton John says that Eminem is on par with Jimi Hendrix and Mick Jagger.
In the new issue of Rolling Stone, the rapper is listed in the magazine's second "Immortals" edition, featuring another 50 of the greatest figures of rock 'n' roll with appreciations written by other artists. In his immortalizing of Eminem, John writes that he got goose bumps when he first rehearsed with him for their performance at the 2001 Grammys.
"From the start, I've always admired Eminem's thinking," John writes. "That's the reason I wanted to appear on the Grammys with him when I was asked, despite all the nonsense talked about his being homophobic...Let the Boy Georges and the George Michaels of the world get up in a twist about it if they don't have the intelligence to see his intelligence."
Pitt and Jolie? ...
A publicist for Brad Pitt has denied a U.S. Weekly report of a romance with Angelina Jolie, calling the story "completely untrue."
The cover of U.S. Weekly's April 18 issue proclaims "It's True!" over separate photos of Pitt, 41, and Jolie, 29. In an article inside, Us quotes employees of a California hotel who claim they saw the two actors being affectionate.
"This particular story is completely untrue," Pitt's publicist, Cindy Guagenti, said in a statement to "Access Hollywood." "Because these tabloids are making so much money, and yes, I consider Us Weekly a tabloid, they go to great lengths to corroborate their stories, whether they are true or not," the statement said.
Pitt and Jennifer Aniston announced their separation in January, and Aniston recently filed for divorce from Pitt after 4 1/2 years of marriage. Tabloids have speculated for months about a romance between Pitt and Jolie, co-stars of the upcoming movie "Mr. and Mrs. Smith."
Us Weekly stood by its story, which includes a representative of Pitt denying the interaction, saying, "Brad stayed on one side of the property and Angelina was on the other."
Communication breakdown ...
Like many parents, Madonna and Guy Ritchie are having a hard time understanding their own children. But in their case, it's because they speak French all the time, reports Ananova.com.
Movie director Ritchie's grandfather says Rocco and Lourdes have all but shunned English at home. The two enfants terribles attend the posh Lycee Francais School in west London, where they study the language. And with Lourdes now fluent -- and Rocco well on the way -- their folks are clueless as to what they are saying. "They talk to each other in French all day, chatting away nonstop," said John Ritchie. "It's very funny. Neither Guy or Madonna speak a word of the language so they cannot understand anything."
Meanwhile, in other Madonna-related news, Variety reports that Hilary Duff will team up for the first time with her older sister Haylie to make a movie inspired by Madonna's classic '80s hit song, "Material Girl."
