The Finger Lakes wine country is taking a tip from Napa Valley.
Constellation Brands, the world's biggest wine company, said Friday it plans to build a wine and culinary institute next year on the shore of Canandaigua Lake. The center will teach people in the wine industry as well as consumers about New York wines and foods.
The project is similar to a Napa Valley culinary, wine, arts and education center called Copia.
Constellation Brands is working on the project along with grocery-store chain Wegmans, the Rochester Institute of Technology and the New York Wine & Grape Foundation.
The Finger Lakes region boasts 95 wineries.
