A Mass of Christian Burial for Aloise J. Beres of Cheektowaga will be offered at 11 a.m. Monday in Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 10 French Road, Depew. Prayers will be said at 10:30 in Pacer Funeral Home, 2275 George Urban Blvd. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Cheektowaga.
Mr. Beres, a lifelong resident of Cheektowaga, died Wednesday in Sisters Hospital after a short illness. He was 82.
An Army veteran of World War II, he served in the Pacific Theater as a private first class. He also served in the New York National Guard from 1947 to 1951 and rose to the rank of sergeant first class.
Mr. Beres worked as a laborer at Buffalo Forge from 1947 until his retirement in 1982. He was a member of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society and the A.J. Jurek Post 1672, American Legion, Swormville. He also was an exempt member of Doyle Hose Company No. 2.
He was married to the former Florence Gardon, who died in 1965, and Angeline Czuszak, who died in 1995.
Mr. Beres is survived by two brothers, Henry V. of Cheektowaga and Chester F. of Getzville; and two sisters, Irene Gawron of Cheektowaga and Frances Tidd of Richmond, Va.
