"Envisioning a Thriving Waterfront" is the theme of a public forum to be held at the Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society at 1 p.m. Sunday.

The free event will feature a panel discussion on the waterfront's future. The panelists will include: Robert G. Shibley, director of the Urban Design Project at the University at Buffalo's School of Architecture and Planning; Rep. Brian M. Higgins, D-Buffalo; Carl Montante Jr., of the Buffalo Lakefront Development team; Lynda Schneekloth, of the UB School of Architecture; and Buffalo News Reporter Phil Fairbanks.

The exchange of ideas is co-sponsored by the Historical Society and The Buffalo News "Why Not Buffalo?" series.
