A memorial service for Lorraine B. Danney, a former West Seneca School Board member, will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Covenant United Methodist Church, 539 Main St., West Seneca. Burial will be in the Ridgelawn section of Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cheektowaga.
She died Jan. 5 in Huntington Place Nursing Home, Rockledge, Fla., after a lengthy illness. She was 93.
Born Lorraine Moehrle in Buffalo, she was a graduate of Buffalo Bible Institute. She was active in the Mill Road School Parent-Teacher Association and served on the West Seneca School Board in the 1960s.
Active in Covenant United Methodist Church, she was a trustee, a choir member, a small group leader and a fund raiser and assisted in many Christian education programs. She served in United Methodist Ministries, was a committee chairwoman in United Methodist Women Buffalo District and was a lay delegate to the annual conference.
Mrs. Danney was a member of the Amana Garden Club, the West Seneca Historical Society, the Beechwood Auxiliary and the Houghton Auxiliary, Buffalo Campus. She also volunteered in Seneca Manor and Beechwood health care facilities. She moved to Florida in 2000.
Her husband of 38 years, Charles L., died in 1979.
Surviving are three daughters, Linda Britton of Rockledge, Fla., Kathryn Kenny of Palenville and Martha Daniels of Marion; a son, the Rev. Thomas of Nyack; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
