A St. Johns Place man was indicted Wednesday on charges including attempted murder in the shooting of a cabdriver two months ago.
Daniel Donmore, 25, was ordered to remain jailed without bail after he pleaded not guilty before State Supreme Court Justice Russell P. Buscaglia to charges of attempted murder, assault and weapons offenses in the shooting of Russell Bland, 51, about 3:30 a.m. Feb. 11.
Prosecutor Daniel M. Killelea, described the shooting as "apparently a spontaneous act of rage."
One of two friends of Donmore who were in the cab's back seat got Donmore out of the cab and into his wheelchair before Bland drove off and crashed into a tree at Harvard Place and Lafayette Avenue, Killelea said.
Bland was rushed to Erie County Medical Center after he staggered to Delaware and Delavan avenues, where he collapsed in front of a service station.
