Horseplay turned into second-degree assault at LaSalle Middle School on Monday morning, when a pupil stabbed another pupil with scissors.
A 15-year-old seventh-grader said he was playing with a towel in Home and Careers class and accidentally hit another student in the head.
He said the suspect reacted by throwing a pair of scissors at him, striking him in the left thigh.
The stabbing victim suffered two puncture wounds, both approximately a half inch long, by a half inch deep, and was treated in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center for his injuries.
The investigation has been turned over to Niagara Falls Police Department juvenile detectives.
