Sarah Schleper collected her third U.S. slalom title, while Ted Ligety earned his first two alpine skiing national championships in Mammoth Lakes, Calif.

Ligety was the fastest on both runs to win in 1 minute, 37.54 seconds. That time, coupled with his 12th-place showing in downhill, earned him the gold medal in combined.

Defending slalom champion Jimmy Cochran won the silver medal in 1:39.26, and Canadian Brad Spencer finished third at 1:40.21.

Schleper, who won her first World Cup race March 12 at the finals in Switzerland, had a two-run time of 1:49.20 to edge Kristina Koznick. Julia Mancuso took the bronze.
